Veneers at East Fremantle Dental Centre
If you’d like to improve your smile, East Fremantle Dental Centre offers a myriad of solutions to fit your needs. We always listen to the patients aesthetic concerns and take our time understanding their goals.
Dental veneers are an option to correct discoloured, misaligned or chipped teeth. They’re more conservative than a dental crown and are durable and aesthetically pleasing. We discuss the pros and cons of every option and advise on the best solution according to the patient’s wants and financial needs.
What Are Veneers?
A veneer is a thin shell that looks a little like a fake fingernail. It’s applied to the front of a tooth to mask imperfections and give you that perfect celebrity smile.
We have two options for veneers: direct and indirect. Direct veneers are composite veneers, indirect veneers are porcelain veneers. If you choose direct, your veneers are applied while you’re in the dental chair. If you choose indirect, your porcelain veneers will require two visits.
Photos are taken prior to any veneer treatment. We’ll assess the health of the teeth and surrounding tissues, study the smile line, facial features and the bite. Patients are shown what the veneered teeth will look like prior to proceeding with any treatment. Once the patient is happy with the possible outcome, then treatment is booked and started.
The Two Types of Veneers
We provide direct and indirect veneers. The direct veneers are applied in a single visit while you’re in the chair. Indirect veneers are prepared at our laboratory.
- Direct Veneers: During a single appointment, you’ll receive your new veneers. We’ll isolate the teeth that are having the veneers applied, prepare the tooth, then place the veneers. We can reshape it or make any other alterations you wish for. At the end, the veneer is polished to a luminous finish, and your procedure is completed.
- Indirect Veneers: If you would like porcelain veneers, we’ll see you for an initial appointment where we take impressions and photos. You’ll receive temporary veneers while yours are created at the laboratory. Once we receive them back, we’ll try it on you, make sure you’re happy with the look, check the functionality, and then cement it into place.
Are You a Candidate?
If you have cosmetic concerns about your teeth, veneers may be the ideal solution. We don’t recommend them to those who grind or clench their teeth, as they can be damaged by these actions. We’ll be happy to see you for a consultation to determine if you’re a candidate for veneers East Fremantle. Contact us today! Saturday visits are available.
